  • -Community members are encouraged to follow the CDC guidance based on their particular situation and community risk levels: COVID-19 Community Levels

We will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 and may adjust our protocols if there is a substantial shift in campus and community case numbers, and/or a change to CDC recommendations.

If you feel generally like you have a cold or flu, or if you have specific symptoms of COVID-19 (a fever of 100.4 F or greater, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath or trouble breathing, headache, muscle pain, fatigue, new GI symptoms, loss of taste or smell, or a runny or stuffy nose not related to allergies), DO NOT GO TO CLASS OR REPORT TO WORK.

  • Community members are encouraged to follow the CDC guidance based on their particular situation and community risk levels: COVID-19 Community Levels

We will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 and may adjust our protocols if there is a substantial shift in campus and community case numbers, and/or a change to CDC recommendations.

I wish everyone a very healthy and productive end of the Spring Semester. Thank you in advance for your support and adherence to our COVID-19 protocols as provided in the COVID-19 Weekly Report, Safe Community Standards Promise, and at together.ringling.edu.

Number in Quarantine:  0 faculty, staff, or contractors / 0 students

Campus Community Response to Vaccine Status: 95.5%

Campus Community Vaccination Rate (including those who are partially vaccinated): 91.4%

Ringling College continues to monitor the number of positive COVID-19 cases on our campus as well as the vaccination status of the campus community. This update covers the positive cases reported between 12:00 pm last Monday to 12:00 pm this Monday. Typically, these weekly updates will be sent on Monday afternoons, unless there is a Monday holiday; in that case, they will be sent the next day. Positive cases and quarantine data will be reflective of the weekly activity, as well as changes in the members of our campus community, while vaccination rates will continue to be cumulative.

There were two new cases of COVID-19 reported among Ringling College students and employees, including contractors, for the time period stated above. There is currently one student, and one faculty, staff, or contractor currently in isolation. There are no students, and no faculty, staff, or contractors currently in quarantine. Please note that isolation and quarantine protocols have changed from the Fall 2021 Semester given the prevailing Omicron variant. You can find details about current guidance on the CDC website and at together.ringling.edu. Isolation numbers do not necessarily reflect a count of new positive cases, as affected individuals may be in isolation over the course of more than one weekly update.

Ringling College continues to respond to changing guidance and mandates, area transmission rates, and the current status of the campus community by taking a balanced approach to campus health. The balance between accessibility to campus, services on campus, personal choice, personal responsibility, and overall health and well-being of the campus community has led us to once again modify our health protocols.

Currently, all Faculty and Staff are required to share their vaccination status, and to provide a copy of their vaccination cards showing the type and date of each dose, if vaccinated. The disclosure options for vaccination status are: Vaccinated, Not Vaccinated, and Prefer not to disclose.

REQUIRED: To update your vaccination status, and to submit a copy (PDF or JPEG) of your vaccination card, please login here: VACCINE STATUS UPDATE

Student Vaccine Status information has been securely collected through the Student Health Center by emailing covidtest@ringling.edu.

Members of the campus community who are not vaccinated or who chose to not disclose their vaccination status will be required to participate in biweekly COVID testing, and to provide documentation of their most recent COVID-19 test result. Test results can be submitted using this Form.

Vaccinated members of the campus community will be required to participate in surveillance testing. Currently, 10% of vaccinated Faculty, Staff and Students will be subject to and notified of their testing requirement each week.

Testing protocols are subject to change when area transmission rates warrant.

Sharing your vaccination status remains confidential and the only information that will be shared is the aggregate total percentage of responses and vaccinated community members. This information is essential for the College to understand the health of, and potential risk to our community as it relates to COVID-19 planning.

Each member of the Ringling College of Art and Design community has an individual responsibility to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. The College continues to strongly encourage all faculty, staff, and students to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and we appreciate those that have already done so. The College also recognizes, however, that not everyone can or will be vaccinated.

The College plans to maintain the below campus safety protocols through the end of the Spring semester in line with the recommended CDC guidance:

All Ringling College community members:

  • Wear face coverings in classrooms, labs, or studios during both scheduled class times and open lab times
  • Wear face coverings when in, or traveling through public and shared interior spaces
  • Should wear face coverings at all times indoors, unless in a private space/office
  • Should work to maintain physical distancing of at least 6-feet from others

Fully Vaccinated Individuals:

  • If you are fully vaccinated and exposed to COVID-19, the CDC recommends getting tested at least 5 days following exposure and wearing a face covering any time you are around others.
  • A percentage of vaccinated individuals will be subject to surveillance COVID testing, which will fluctuate based on positivity rates in the local community.

Unvaccinated Individuals:

  • Required to quarantine following a known exposure to an individual infected by COVID-19 for at least 5 full days and will have to wear a mask any time they are around others for an additional 5 days, whether indoors or out.
  • Will be subject to baseline and scheduled COVID testing

Please remember to conduct your own wellness check before going to class or coming in to work.

Students with any of these symptoms should contact the Ringling College Student Health Center at 941-309-4000 or medical@ringling.edu. Faculty and staff exhibiting potential COVID-19 symptoms should contact their healthcare provider, supervisor, and Human Resources at 941-359-7619 or hrmail@ringling.edu.

Given the high transmission rate of the current Omicron variant, and with the addition of holiday travel, an increase in positive cases, isolations, and quarantines was anticipated, but we are reassured that these are now declining. We appreciate the campus community's continued diligence in adhering to our COVID-19 safety protocols.

There were 3 new cases of COVID-19 reported among Ringling College students and employees, including contractors, for the time period stated above. There is currently 1 student, and 1 faculty, staff, or contractor currently in isolation.

Typically, these weekly updates will be sent on Monday afternoons, unless there is a Monday holiday; in that case, they will be sent the next day. Positive cases and quarantine data will be reflective of the weekly activity while vaccination rates will be cumulative.

There were no new cases of COVID-19 reported among Ringling College students and employees, including contractors, for the time period stated above. There are no students, faculty, staff, or contractors currently in isolation or quarantine. Please note that quarantine protocols have changed from the Spring 2021 Semester as more individuals have been vaccinated. You can find details about current guidance on the CDC website and at together.ringling.edu. Isolation numbers do not necessarily reflect a count of new positive cases, as affected individuals may be in isolation over the course of more than one weekly update.

The recently released rule from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires proof of vaccination, or weekly testing of employees who are unvaccinated or for those employees who do not wish to share their vaccination status. The College is working to determine how to best incorporate these updated requirements into our protocols and we will communicate those changes to the campus community as soon as possible.

The Office of Human Resources has been collecting COVID-19 Vaccine Status information for faculty and staff through their secure survey: COVID Vaccine Status. Student Vaccine Status information has been securely collected through the Student Health Center by emailing covidtest@ringling.edu.

Sharing your vaccination status remains confidential and the only information that will be shared is the aggregate total percentage of responses and vaccinated community members. This information is essential for the College to understand the health of, and potential risk to our community as it relates to COVID-19 planning.

The College shares updates with the campus community on a weekly basis. This update reflects the COMBINED TOTAL of responses from students, faculty, and staff, including adjunct faculty members. We will report on responses and vaccination status of all campus community members moving and will be posting these updates, as well as any positive COVID-19 cases reported, on our COVID-19 Dashboard site, together.ringling.edu

The College plans to maintain the below campus safety protocols through the end of the Fall semester in line with the recommended CDC guidance:

All Ringling College community members:

  • Wear face coverings in classrooms, labs, or studios during both scheduled class times and open lab times
  • Wear face coverings when in, or traveling through public and shared interior spaces, including outside in high-traffic areas when physical distancing of 6-feet cannot be maintained
  • Should wear face coverings at all times indoors, unless in a private space/office
  • Should work to maintain physical distancing of at least 6-feet from others

Fully Vaccinated Individuals:

  • If you are fully vaccinated and exposed to COVID-19, the CDC recommends getting tested 3-5 days following exposure and wearing a face covering in public, indoor settings for 14 days, or until you receive a negative test result.
  • A small percentage of vaccinated individuals will be subject to baseline and random COVID testing

Unvaccinated Individuals:

  • Required to quarantine following a known exposure to an individual infected by COVID-19
  • Will be subject to baseline and scheduled COVID testing

Please remember to conduct your own wellness check before going to class or coming in to work.

For faculty and staff, if you have not yet taken the survey, please click on the following link to complete and submit your vaccination status: COVID Vaccine Status

For students, please email covidtest@ringling.edu with your vaccination status if you have not already done so, or if your vaccination status changes. Please send a picture of your COVID-19 vaccination card.

The College has more than 100 employees, so would be required to comply with the anticipated rule from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) following President Biden's executive order requiring vaccination or weekly testing of employees who are unvaccinated. As a result, vaccinations may be required in the future and the current testing protocol for individuals who have not been vaccinated may increase from every other week to weekly testing in order to comply. We will keep our campus community informed of decisions around COVID-19 vaccines and testing protocols.

The College plans to maintain the below campus safety protocols through the end of the Fall semester in line with the recommended CDC guidance:

All Ringling College community members:

- Wear face coverings in classrooms, labs, or studios during both scheduled class times and open lab times

- Wear face coverings when in, or traveling through public and shared interior spaces, including outside in high-traffic areas when physical distancing of 6-feet cannot be maintained

- Should wear face coverings at all times indoors, unless in a private space/office

- Should work to maintain physical distancing of at least 6-feet from others

Fully Vaccinated Individuals:

- If you are fully vaccinated and exposed to COVID-19, the CDC recommends getting tested 3-5 days following exposure and wearing a face covering in public, indoor settings for 14 days, or until you receive a negative test result.

- A small percentage of vaccinated individuals will be subject to baseline and random COVID testing

Unvaccinated Individuals:

- Required to quarantine following a known exposure to an individual infected by COVID-19

- Will be subject to baseline and scheduled COVID testing

Please remember to conduct your own wellness check before going to class or coming in to work.

September 13, 2021 Update

Number of New Positive Cases: 2 faculty, staff, or contractors / 3 students

Number in Isolation: 2 faculty, staff, or contractors / 3 students

Number in Quarantine: 3 faculty, staff, or contractors / 2 students

Campus Community Response to Vaccine Status: 95.0%

Campus Community Vaccination Rate (including those who are partially vaccinated): 89.1%

Campus Community Fully Vaccinated Rate: 85.9%

Ringling College continues to monitor the number of positive COVID-19 cases on our campus as well as the vaccination status of the campus community. This update covers the positive cases reported between 12:00 pm last Monday to 12:00 pm this Monday. Typically, these weekly updates will be sent on Monday afternoons, unless there is a Monday holiday; in that case, they will be sent the next day. Positive cases and quarantine data will be reflective of the weekly activity while vaccination rates will be cumulative.

There were 5 new cases of COVID-19 reported among Ringling College students and employees, including contractors, for the time period stated above. There are two faculty, staff, or contractors and three students currently in isolation. Three faculty, staff, or contractors and two students are currently in quarantine related to a positive case. Please note that quarantine protocols have changed from the Spring 2021 Semester as more individuals have been vaccinated. You can find details about current guidance on the CDC website and at together.ringling.edu. Please note that isolation numbers do not necessarily reflect a count of new positive cases, as affected individuals may be in isolation over the course of more than one weekly update.

The College is reviewing President Biden's executive order requiring vaccination or weekly testing of employees who are unvaccinated. The College has more than 100 employees, so would be required to comply with the anticipated rule from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). As a result, vaccinations may be required in the future and the current testing protocol for individuals who have not been vaccinated may increase from every other week to weekly testing in order to comply. We will keep our campus community informed of decisions around COVID-19 vaccines and testing protocols.

The College plans to share updates with the campus community on a weekly basis. This update reflects the COMBINED TOTAL of responses from students, faculty, and staff, including adjunct faculty members. We will continue to report on responses and vaccination status of all campus community members moving forward and will be posting these updates, as well as any positive COVID-19 cases reported, on our COVID-19 Dashboard site, together.ringling.edu

As the number of cases continues to grow due to the highly contagious Delta variant, we have updated our campus safety protocols in line with the recommended CDC guidance:

All Ringling College community members:

  • Wear face coverings in classrooms, labs, or studios during both scheduled class times and open lab times
  • Wear face coverings when in, or traveling through public and shared interior spaces, including outside in high-traffic areas when physical distancing of 6-feet cannot be maintained
